Bizally began in 1979 when Clive Morris opened an accounting practice in Blackburn South. He sold the business to Graeme Ritchie in 1985, who continued its growth. In 1989, Clive returned and partnered with Graeme, forming Morris & Ritchie and strengthening the firm’s future.
Morris & Ritchie continued to grow and developed a reputation for integrity, excellence, outstanding client service that was built on a foundation of attention to detail and technical excellence. The practice focused on small and medium-sized business owners and spanned a wide range of industries. Most importantly, their empathy and understanding of their clients’ needs forged many enduring relationships that continue at Bizally to this day.
As the firm expanded, so did the team. Ben Stokes joined Morris & Ritchie in 1994 after graduating from Melbourne University. Marco Polloni followed in 1999, bringing strong technical expertise and a keen eye for detail. That same year, Ben left to become Finance Director and part-owner of a tech start-up, later spending six years in London in various accounting and software implementation roles. He returned to the firm in 2007, adding valuable experience to the team.
In 2000, Clive began transitioning into retirement, leaving Graeme Ritchie to lead the firm under the name G K Ritchie & Associates. Thanks to ongoing client referrals, the practice continued to grow. On 1 July 2008, Ben Stokes and Marco Polloni became partners, combining their expertise with Graeme’s experience to establish the firm as a leading practice in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
In 2015, GKRA rebranded to Bizally to better reflect a modern culture and growing focus on technology. The new name captured the team’s energy and commitment to using best‑practice technologies that help clients work more efficiently and make better‑informed decisions.
In 2018, long‑time leader Graeme Ritchie retired, leaving Ben and Marco to carry the business forward. After several successful years working together, another transition came in 2023 when Marco moved on from the business to begin a new chapter in his life, marking the next evolution in our story.
In mid 2023, Bizally proudly acquired the accounting division of Hayes Girling Financial, bringing together the strengths, experience, and client focused approach of both teams. As part of this exciting transition, Nigel Mason was appointed as a Bizally Director, helping to guide the unified business into its next phase of growth and opportunity.
